The Giving Tree: Memorialize or Honor a Special Pet

Thanksgiving is already here and officially marks the beginning of the season of giving! Last week, we introduced you to Paws and Claws, a foster based animal rescue in Hebron, Ky. They have a brilliant and unique way for you to give a gift of love to another while supporting their organization – The Paws and Claws Giving Tree.

Furry family members are just like the non-furry ones to many of us and many people we know.  Just like humans, they can make us cry, make us lose sleep, and tug at our heartstrings. If you know or have memories of a pet who fits this description, and you would like to share his story to honor or memorialize him, Paws and Claws is going to give you this chance!

By making a tax-deductible donation to Paws and Claws Animal Rescue this holiday season, you can honor/memorialize a pet of your own, or one belonging to someone else. You can download the form here and provide the information about the animal you are choosing to honor or memorialize. In return, a special card with a paper ornament (handmade by children of rescue volunteers/members) will be sent to let your friend know of your donation and what you shared about their special companion. If the pet being honored is yours, the card and ornament will be sent to you! The pet will also be given a special mention on the Paws and Claws Facebook page!  This sounds like a wonderful way to support Paws and Claws and “buy” something unforgettable for that hard to buy for person!  Are you ready to start the season of giving by bringing a smile to a loved one’s face?

Feature Rescue: Garth

Can you help Garth find a home for the holidays?

Garth is a 4 year old boy who has been at Paws and Claws the longest, waiting and waiting for his forever home. He has an old injury to his jaw, possibly from a break that was left to heal on its own, as evidenced by his crooked smile. But other than that, Garth is a lovable and goofy boy who is crate trained, house trained, and even does well on a leash.  He gets along fine with other dogs and even has been around cats! This big boy thinks he is a lap dog and just wants to find a forever home to cuddle up in for the holidays!  If you or someone you know might be able to provide this home, please contact or 859-250-9396 for more information!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Naked Dingo!
