Paw Joggers Rescue Run
One of my favorite things about this time of year is having a break from the scorching temperatures for one of my favorite pastimes, running. If you or your lovable dingo are also a fan of running or walking, then you are going to want to mark your calendar for the inaugural Paw Joggers Rescue Run on Sunday, October 20th, at 10 AM.
The Paw Joggers Rescue Run features an officially-timed 5K run/walk or a relaxing 2K walk through Sharon Woods (11450 Lebanon Road) in Sharonville. You can choose to participate with or with out your BFF (Best Furry Friend.) The events will also include prize categories, wag bags for runners, walkers, and dogs, t-shirts for all, raffles, food, vendors, music, adoptable pets, and demonstrations. Registration for any of the running or walking events ranges from $25-$35. Click here to register online, or register the day of the event beginning at 7:30 AM. Each participant has the option to select a beneficiary as part of the online registration process and to raise additional donations by forming teams or asking for donation support. I love that 100% of the registration fees will go to support 24 qualified organizations from the local animal welfare community! Additionally, all proceeds from raffles, sponsorships, and other donations will be evenly disbursed among all participating organizations.
Paw Joggers is about promoting healthy lifestyles, so everyone is encouraged to attend the Paw Joggers Rescue Run. This event has the capability to raise much needed funds for the animal community, but it needs your support! And Sharon Woods is guaranteed to be especially gorgeous this time of year, making the perfect setting for a walk, jog, or run! Are you ready to lace up those shoes to help furry friends in our area?
Feature Rescue: Brutus
Our feature rescue this week comes to us from one of the participating rescues in the Paw Joggers Rescue Run, Angel’s Rest Animal Sanctuary. Brutus is a full-blooded, young Cane Corso Mastiff who was found running in the fields, skin and bones. Angel’s Rest rescued him from a kill shelter that would not put him on the adoption floor due to a supposed food aggression. Angel’s Rest placed him in a foster home with small children and other dogs, and Brutus has become the perfect family dog with wonderful manners! Brutus loves being outside, playing fetch and tug of war, but mostly he just aims to please. Do you or someone you know have the forever home Brutus deserves? To read more about Brutus or other animals at Angel’s Rest who are looking for their forever homes click here, and help us find more homeless animals a loving place to call home!
