Big Dog Show Exhibit at Pyramid Hill Park

The Big Dog Show

Are you a fan of the outdoors?  What about dog art?  Want a way to combine both?  Now through August 1st, you can go to the 265 acre Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Hamilton, OH to enjoy The Big Dog Show exhibit of artist Dale Rogers.  This metal sculptor started his travelling exhibit in 2009.  And it is in fact “BIG,” with the collection of 20 dog sculptures measuring 8 feet high by 10 feet long!  Dale Rogers explains his exhibit best when he says, “Historically dogs have made positive and lasting impressions with people.  I hope the American Dog sculptures and The Big Dog Show will do the same.” The Big Dog Show is already making a “positive and lasting impression” as it benefits the Butler County Animal Friends Humane Society, helping them continue in their mission to “promote humane principles, to protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for animals in our communities.”

Looks like puppy love!

Just reading about The Big Dog Show intrigued me, and I had to check it out myself.  There was something eerily beautiful about approaching the exhibit and seeing these massive dogs tucked into the trees.  My children and I really enjoyed the chance to view the exhibit!  And if you have never been to this huge park, you definitely should!  It would be the perfect picnic destination, with so much nature and art to enjoy!  There are also “Art Cart” golf carts that are available for you to use for your tour.  Make some plans to check out Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and the “American Dog” of The Big Dog Show.  What breed do you think it is modeled after?

I was at the Dog Dayz event and saw the exhibit. I need to go back! Very, very cool. My guess is the dogs were inspired by goldens!
