2012 Barktoberfest and Dog Jog

The 2012 Barktoberfest and Dog Jog is Sunday, October 7th, at Otto Armleder Dog Park on Wooster Pike.  From 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, the day will be filled with fun activities to raise money for various rescue groups in the tri-state area. The Dog Jog begins with a blessing of the dogs and is followed by your choice of a 2 mile race or a 1 mile walk.  Make sure you stick around to see if you win an award!  Then enjoy an afternoon of being entertained with pet look-a-like and silly pet trick contests, the Halloween parade, and a costume contest.  The remainder of the day will be filled with doggy games, demonstrations, raffles, vendors, food, and fun!

Click here to pre-register for the Dog Jog, or registration is also available beginning at 8:30 the day of the event.   Or just come for an afternoon out with the family to support homeless and stray pets!  This is also a great excuse to check out the 10 acres of the Otto Armleder Dog Park and let your dingo enjoy a beautiful fall day!

Feature Rescue: Princess

This beautiful girl definitely looks like a Princess!

Princess came to Recycled Doggies in September as an answer to their prayers. They had just suffered a tragedy when one of their momma dogs gave birth one day and passed away the next, leaving a litter of hungry babies to feed. Recycled Doggies posted out looking for a nursing momma to help, and it so happened that one of their fans had rescued this emaciated pittie mix, with milk but mysteriously no babies, from a man trying to sell her on a street corner. So began Princess’s amazing life as a Recycled Doggy. She adopted 5 of the hungry one-day-old babies and kept them safe, fed, and loved. And she thrived in her foster home! Her foster daddy is in love with her and committed to making sure Princess never goes back to whatever kind of life she previously had that led her to be found on that street corner. Princess is loving and sweet, and she has discovered that she loves to be spoiled! She does not get along with cats, but does fine with some dogs.  Help us find a forever home to care for Princess the way she cared for those puppies who needed her!  Please contact Recycled Doggies for more information on Princess, or visit their site to see other lovable pups they have in need of loving homes!
